Version 26.8 of Wandelbots NOVA introduces several new features, improvements, and bug fixes to enhance the user experience and performance of the platform.

## What's new?

### Setup app version 2

Setup has a new sidebar with two sections, `NOVA OS` and your robot cells, so you can browse all your cells as a searchable list
of cards showing each one's status and the robot manufacturers it contains.

- Creating a cell now only asks for a name. Add robots afterwards, from the cell's `Robots` page, instead of during creation.
- Adding a physical robot now autofills the network interface and other fields: enter the controller's IP address, and Setup detects which network port the controller is wired to and assigns a free address automatically.
- When adding a physical robot, click `Guide me` for a step-by-step walkthrough, reuse a previous connection from `Recent connections`,
or use `Scan network` to find a controller when you don't know its IP address. Before the robot is created, Setup checks the connection
and lets you fix problems or add the robot anyway.
- Virtual robots now support more than one motion group, so you can simulate a multi-group controller as a single virtual robot
instead of creating one controller per motion group.
- You can now export a virtual robot's configuration and import it into another cell or instance.
- `System`, in `NOVA OS`, will gradually replace the previous system settings panel.
It displays the installed NOVA version and available updates, diagnosis packages, and health warnings about the installation.

> **Info:** If the NOVA backend version is too old to support the new Setup app, Setup keeps showing its previous version.
> On the previous version, the `Settings` icon on the home screen still gives you version, update, license status, and diagnosis package access.
> In this case, a banner will be displayed in the Setup app.

See [Setup](/nova/26.8/setup/overview) for the full flow.

### Automatic IPC network configuration

Setup now detects which physical network port a robot controller is wired to and assigns the IPC a free address on it automatically.
Most robot brands' setup instructions no longer require manually configuring the IPC's network settings as a separate step: it only comes up as a fallback, covered in each robot's Troubleshooting section, for installations still on the previous version of Setup.

### SR-IOV support

Adds the option to enable SR-IOV on supported network interfaces, reducing latency and jitter for robot connections.
See [Activate SR-IOV](/nova/26.8/installation/sriov) to activate it on your NOVA OS instance.

If your hardware does not support SR-IOV, Setup app `System` shows a health warning; your robots still connect over a standard network interface in the meantime.

### Supported robots

Added support for 4 new robot(s):

**FANUC**

- M-10iA/12S

**KUKA**

- KR 360 R2830

**TECHMAN**

- TM14S
- TM7S

For an up to date overview of all supported controllers and motion groups (robotic arms and external axes),
refer to the [Compatibility section](/nova/26.8/compatibility).

## What's better?

- Adds support for serial numbers in motion group model API requests. Existing requests without serial numbers continue to work.

### Isaac Sim Extension: Robot model alignment update

Aligns the TCP orientation of 28 USD robot models. If you automatically attach tools to these models, the tools may have a different orientation than before.

## Bug fixes

- Fixes slow loading of the Setup home screen and pages in case a backend service can't be reached. This also affects cells without internet access.
- Fixes scrolling when adding a BUS signal in the Setup app. The new signal row is now displayed, including in long signal lists.

### KUKA safety zone collision fix

Fixes incorrect collision errors for non-restricted safety zones reported by KUKA controllers. These errors could prevent motion planning even when the robot was allowed to enter the zone.

## Technical details

- Removes support for 12ms KUKA cycle time, 4ms is now the default.
- Stäubli controller version 8.20.1 is not supported with Wandelbots NOVA. Any other version above and including 8.17 is supported.

For an up to date overview of all compatible dependencies including GitHub repositories, NVIDIA Isaac Sim offline packages and
custom option packages for robot setups, refer to the [Compatibility section](/nova/26.8/compatibility).

## Documentation

- Updated Setup documentation for all supported robot brands to match the Setup app update.
- Added guidance on installing third-party URCaps, e.g., a gripper vendor's, on [UR controllers](/nova/26.8/setup/robots/ur): Wandelbots officially validates only the Wandelbots URCap, so a third-party one may conflict with it.
- Adds a KUKA troubleshooting entry for [torque limit errors KSS01073 and KSS01074](/nova/26.8/setup/robots/kuka#kuka-robots-stop-with-torque-limit-errors-kss01073-kss01074), covering how to resolve them by adjusting payload or torque limit settings.
- Improved [network configuration instructions for UR](/nova/26.8/setup/robots/ur#configure-network-settings) to avoid connection issues.
- Documentation now describes the redesigned Setup by default, with callouts on each affected page for what's different if your installation still shows the previous version of Setup.
- Added a [Setup overview](/nova/26.8/setup/overview) describing what you can do in the redesigned Setup app, including the guided robot connection flow, formerly its own "Connect robots" page, and configuration export/import.
- Added [System](/nova/26.8/setup/system), covering the instance's version and updates, diagnosis packages, health warnings.
- Added [Activate SR-IOV](/nova/26.8/installation/sriov), covering how to activate SR-IOV on a supported network interface.
- Updated the [FAQ](/nova/26.8/faq) update instructions and added an entry on why Setup may keep showing its previous version after an update.
- Moved each robot brand's manual IPC network configuration steps to its Troubleshooting section, since Setup now assigns the IPC's network address automatically by default.
- Added a guide on [how to specify a reference coordinate system for Cartesian movements](/nova/26.8/guides/reference-coordinate-systems), covering how to plan relative to a different one.
- Added a best practice on resetting signals to `false` at the start of a program, to [NOVA Flow best practices](/developer/nova-flow/behavior-trees#best-practices) and the [NOVA API execution model](/nova/26.8/nova-api/execution-model#io-interactions).
- Added a note about the unsupported Stäubli controller version 8.20.1 to the [Stäubli setup documentation](/nova/26.8/setup/robots/staubli#supported-models).
